Demand for cooling in Southeast Asia already represents about 50% of total household electricity consumption, a share that is expected to grow steadily over the next decades.
ICASEA supports governments in their efforts to promote higher efficiency cooling equipment through ambitious policies and regulations.
ICASEA also supports air conditioning manufacturers with advance technology to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions of GHGs.
The ASEAN SHINE program, led by ICA in partnership with UN Environment, the ASEAN Centre for Energy and under the steering of the ASEAN Ministries of Energy, has led to the harmonization of standards across ASEAN and the adoption of ambitious policy measures for ACs and lighting.
